"A piece of jewelry is only as enduring as the care it receives. These are our guidelines — not rules, but rituals — for keeping your Miorenée pieces luminous for generations."

Daily Rituals

Wearing Your Jewelry the Right Way

Always apply your jewelry as the final step when dressing. Complete your skincare routine, apply cosmetics, perfumes, and hairspray first — this minimises chemical exposure that can dull surfaces and accumulate behind settings.

The sequence matters. Chemicals that are safe on skin can gradually affect the brilliance of metals and stones when trapped in contact over time.

Remove Your Jewelry Before
Physical activities and exercise
Swimming — pools, hot tubs, or saltwater
Household cleaning or gardening
Applying hand creams or lotions
Sleeping

Contact with chemicals, hard surfaces, and physical impact can cause scratches, loosening of settings, and structural damage to both gemstones and metal.

Keeping It Safe

Storage That Protects as Much as It Preserves

Individual Storage

Store each piece separately in its own soft-lined compartment, pouch, or box. Diamonds rank 10 on the Mohs hardness scale — they will scratch other diamonds, gemstones, and all precious metals when stored together.

Separate soft-lined compartments
Individual pouches or zip-lock bags
Original box is ideal for storage

Ideal Environment

The storage environment matters as much as the container. Moisture, light, and temperature swings are the silent enemies of fine jewelry.

Cool, dry location
Away from direct sunlight
Stable temperature — no extremes
Low humidity environment

Special Considerations

For infrequently worn pieces — particularly sterling silver — use anti-tarnish bags or cloths to slow oxidation.

Anti-tarnish bags for silver pieces
Store certificates separately
Check clasps and settings periodically

Our Philosophy

"The brilliance of a diamond is not diminished by time — only by neglect. A few minutes of care preserves a lifetime of beauty."

The Cleaning Ritual

How to Clean Your Diamond Jewelry at Home

Every Two Weeks
01

Prepare the Solution

Mix warm water with a small amount of mild dish soap. Avoid harsh detergents or antibacterial formulations — gentle is always best for both diamonds and metal settings.

02

Soak for 20–30 Minutes

Submerge your jewelry fully and allow it to soak. This loosens accumulated oils, skin residue, and product build-up — particularly the deposits that collect on the underside of stones.

03

Gently Scrub All Surfaces

Using a soft-bristled toothbrush, gently scrub every surface — including the underside of the stone and inside the setting, where oils concentrate most.

04

Rinse Under Warm Water

Rinse thoroughly under warm running water. Always cover the drain or use a bowl — a loose stone in a drain is a preventable heartbreak.

05

Dry Completely

Pat dry gently with a lint-free cloth, then allow the piece to air dry completely before returning it to storage.

06

Inspect Before Storing

Use this moment to inspect settings and clasps for any looseness or wear. Early detection is the easiest way to prevent stone loss.

Never Use

What to Avoid When Cleaning

Some common cleaning instincts can do real damage. These are the substances and methods to keep away from your jewelry.

Bleach, Chlorine & AmmoniaCorrode precious metals and can loosen diamond settings over time.
Abrasive MaterialsSteel wool, rough cloths, or abrasive pastes will scratch metal surfaces and dull finishes.
Ultrasonic CleanersNot safe for stones with visible inclusions — vibrations can cause fractures to propagate.
Very Hot WaterRapid temperature changes can cause thermal shock, especially damaging to stones with inclusions.
ToothpasteCommon advice, but wrong — toothpaste is mildly abrasive and will micro-scratch metal surfaces.
Baking SodaAlso mildly abrasive despite its reputation — stick to mild dish soap and warm water only.
Beyond Home Care

When to Seek Professional Care

01

Annual Professional Cleaning

Once a year, bring your pieces in for professional ultrasonic cleaning and steam treatment. A jeweller's tools can reach areas no home method can.

02

Setting Inspection

Have prongs and settings checked annually. Metal fatigues over time and prongs can loosen subtly before you notice.
